Private training lessons

By utilizing our 30 years of animal behaviorism and animal training experience, we can help teach your dog the ways of the world through positive reinforcement, patience and fun!

Albright Pet Sitting & More offers various types of pet training for groups as well as personalized one on one.  Classes may vary and can be tailored to your specific needs.

• Training can range from beginning classes to the more advanced classes of obedience and socialization. For dogs, our curriculum uses the American Kennel Club's (AKC) Canine Good Citizen Test. We also offer courses in utility, agility, fly-ball and related areas.
  
• We currently offer this training at two different locations. In addition, this training can be conducted in other locations, including private lessons at your homesite.
  
• All training is guaranteed for the life of your pet!

Training Philosophy

Albright Pet Sitting & More courses are all based on a basic idea which can be summed up from a quote from R.D. Shaw, Chief Archaeologist for the Alaska Department of Natural Resources:

"If societies are judged by their systems of order, justice, land rights, and family, the kingdom of the wolf is one of the most sophisticated."

With this in mind, the courses are used to establish the human owner's role as the leader of the pack.  Unless the owner establishes dominance, the animal will. Dominance is not punishment, dominance is the law of the pack. It is instinctively understood by all dogs. By showing dominance to the dog in a very responsible, consistent way, you are setting the dog at ease because he/she knows their place in the pack and are always at ease around you because they know that you are in control and you will protect them. We use treats and verbal rewards as well as positive reinforcement.

The courses will also detail different types of canine social behavior as well as body language, providing the customer with insight into ways in which the pet is trying to communicate with.
